O (Trinity Prep) Pioneers!

Two weeks ago, our 4th grade students could be found in a one-room school house:
-  Writing on slate boards to work math problems on their laps.
-  Standing at attention to answer teacher questions.
-  Relying on a wood stove to keep warm in the chilly November weather.
-  Sitting on one side for boys, and the other side for girls, but everyone sitting up straight and tall on wooden benches.
- Dressed in pioneer clothes and reading McGuffey's Eclectic Primer.

It was Pioneer School Day for Trinity Prep 4th graders at Log Cabin Village in Ft. Worth!

Mrs. Wickham reading math problems to our students.

Our Pioneer Students!
Students from both Mrs. Hague's Mon/Wed class and Mrs. Wickham's Tues/Thurs class enjoyed Mrs. Wickham teaching in the one-room schoolroom for the morning, then a picnic lunch outside, then a tour through the blacksmith cabin, the Texas dog-run style pioneer home, the candlemaker cabin, the carpenter cabin, and a family home with pioneer games - and chores!

And this school day is Reason #2,345 that I SO appreciate the dedication of our Trinity Prep teachers:  the fun AND educational field trips that they make possible for our students!

Thank you, Mrs. Wickham, for making this experience possible each year for our 4th graders.

Pioneer boys  :)
